Layout Options Across Platforms

In a website all three layouts are available to use
In mobile due to it's size and usability there is only one layout option (one column design), in which you can add and design a Header, Footer Content Top or Content Bottom (without Side panels)
In Tabet and Facebook there are two layout types available for design: Horizontal and Vertical
According to the layout you choose for your site, you can create different sections and design them. The sections are created per master page and define the basic structure of the pages that you assign to the master pages in your site.

Sections types: Header, Footer, Side Panel (left, right), Content Top/Bottom, Content.

For every layout type, the presentation of the sections is different, depends on the structure of the layout. For example, in a Vertical layout adding a Footer section will insert it in the middle vertical and not across the whole site width (as it would do in a Horizontal layout)

A master page is a page structure template that you can style and then apply to pages in the site to be presented in the same way. For example, I can create a master page for my Home page and another one for the inner pages of the site. In the home master page add a Header and add a background image located below the main menu. I want to inner pages to look differently and not include the image, so I create additional master page without the background image, and apply all the inner pages to this master page

By creating a master page and designing the sections in it and the style of each section, the process of adding content pages to the site to continue the same design concept is very easy and quick, saving you time and making sure your site has a consistent and a high quality design throughout the pages

Across platforms you can inherit a master page style and adapt it to the platform, keeping that consistent and high quality design concept across screens as well
